What it's about
Comparing ourselves to others is one of those habits we rarely get to talk about honestly.
It can show up in a scroll through someone's highlight reel, a friend's good news, or a coworker's promotion. It often feels unspeakably icky, so we tend to deny it, judge ourselves for it, or hide it. But it can end up coming out sideways, whether we like it or not.
When it snowballs over time into envy, resentment, withdrawal, or constant self-criticism, comparison can weigh heavily on our friendships, relationships, work, and how we feel about ourselves.
In this Lifeshop taught by our founder Alex Simon, we'll reframe comparison not as some fatal flaw, but as information, often pointing to unmet needs, unspoken desires, or parts of ourselves we're trying in vain to disown.
